Incognito Mode (also known as Private Browsing) allows you to open a browser window without using stored cookies, cache, or browsing history. Think of it almost like opening your browser for the very first time.
Arttoo may ask you to use an Incognito/Private Browsing window as an essential technical troubleshooting step, as it can help resolve issues caused by outdated data, saved sessions, or browser extensions.
How to Open an Incognito Window
Google Chrome
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner
- Select New Incognito Window
- A new window will open (usually with a dark or grey theme)
Shortcut:
- Windows / Chrome OS: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mac: ⌘ + Shift + N
Firefox
- Click the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right
- Select New Private Window
- A new window with a purple mask icon will open
Safari
- Click File in the top menu
- Select New Private Window
- A new window with a dark address bar will open
Microsoft Edge
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right
- Select New InPrivate Window
- A new window will open
Shortcut:
- Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mac: ⌘ + Shift + N
Internet Explorer (Not Recommended)
Note: Arttoo does not recommend using Internet Explorer, as it is no longer supported by Microsoft.
If needed:
- Click the Settings icon
- Select Safety
- Choose InPrivate Browsing
